I recently had the privilege of being a guest on Hector Telmo’s podcast, Kinetic Outcome, where we had a fantastic conversation about my journey in sales, ultra-running, and the work I’m doing with the Action Asia Foundation. Hector is a dynamic host, bringing his love for storytelling and community to every episode, and I was thrilled to be part of it.
During our chat, we covered a lot of ground—from my experiences building JNW Properties to the lessons I've learned through my ultra-running adventures. We also discussed my passion for giving back, specifically through Action Asia Foundation, where we're making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities. Hector can pull out the deeper “why” behind what we do, making the conversation both insightful and enjoyable.
The podcast was beautifully captured by Edry Mendoza, a talented video creator who did an outstanding job producing the video for the episode. You can check out the full podcast video, produced by Edry, on Hector’s YouTube channel. Be sure to follow Edry on Instagram @EdryMendoza to see more of his amazing work!
I invite you to watch the episode and see how Hector brings out the best in every guest.
Hector Telmo is not just a name in Hong Kong's Hip Hop and business scene—he’s a trailblazer. Born into a musical Filipino-Spanish family in Hong Kong, Hector fell in love with Hip Hop in grade school and has been honing his craft for over 20 years. As a pioneer, he broke barriers by uniting local Chinese, expats, and ethnic minorities to create the city's vibrant underground Hip Hop movement. Together with DJ Mojito, he co-founded the influential "Straight Outta Home Kong," hosting legendary events at VOLAR and Fly Club from 2015 to 2018, forever changing Hong Kong's music scene.
Beyond music, Hector’s passion for people led him to create Kinetic Outcome, a platform for interviews with individuals from diverse backgrounds, building a community where everyone learns from each other.
In 2019, Hector turned his focus to the insurance industry, aiming to become the first expat or ethnic minority District Director in Hong Kong's history. Today, he leads a growing team, with plans to expand to 50 members by 2025, working toward his dream of building the city's largest multilingual district in the financial sector.
As Hector says, "It’s your story that determines why people work with you." When you collaborate with Hector, you’re not just accessing top-tier financial services—you’re part of a movement driven by vision, inclusivity, and ambition.
